Girl Scouts Heart of Central California council is excited to offer three brand new year-round programs utilizing our council owned horses. These programs are designed to inspire girls and allow them to discover the world of horses. After 15 years of developing this program, GSHCC is proud to bring it to our members.

Horse Tails Fee: $30
Age Level: 2nd and 3rd grade girls
This two-hour program includes a ground session on horse safety and knot tying and a horseback riding lesson. We are offering one level of this program this year and plan on offering more progressive levels in the future.

Session 1-9:30 to 11:30 AM
Session 2-12:30 to 2:30 PM
Session 3-2:30 to 4:30 PM
Location: Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse, Jamestown (about 2 hours from Sacramento, 75 minutes from Stockton and 60 minutes from Modesto)*
*Jamestown is located near Angels Camp, Murphys and Columbia State Park, there are many wonderful places to see in the area if your troop wants to plan a whole field trip around this event.
Trailblazers Fee: $58
Age Level: Girls in 4th grade and older
This is an overnight camping program for Girl Scout troops. Each troop will get to enjoy a trail ride, horseback riding and roping demonstrations as well as some other traditional camp activities. Fee includes horseback riding instruction, program materials, a participation patch and s’mores. Troops will need to provide their own camping gear and food. Each troop will need to bring a troop camp certified adult as well as a troop first aider. Please limit adults to the Girl Scout Safety-wise ratio of two adults to every 15 girls. Girls can register with a troop or as an individual for this event. Individuals will need to have an adult attend with them.
